NEW ORLEANS - LSU New Orleans senior golfer Max Feistmantl was named a COBALT Golf All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Monday afternoon.

Feistmantl earned his degree in business management in the spring and finished his two years on the Lakefront with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.636. During his time as a Privateer, "Maxi" played in 14 tournaments and averaged 74.4. He recorded five top-20 finishes, three top-10 finishes and two top-five finishes during his collegiate career. As a senior, he posted two rounds below 70 and a career-best 54-hole score of 210.

To be eligible for a COBALT Golf All-America Scholar nomination, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and athletically in the NCAA or NAIA. Student-athletes must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 76.0 (in Div. I)  and carry a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients also must be of high moral character and in good standing at their college or university. This season, 649 Division I student-athletes from 210 schools earned the honor, including 15 from the Southland Conference.

Feistmantl becomes the 16th All-American Scholar in program history and the first since Thomas Artigas, Kyle Bennett, Mason Roberts and Matt Weber earned the distinction two years ago. Since head coach Jeff Lorio took the reins of the program in 2016, his teams have produced at least one All-American Scholar in eight of his 10 seasons, with all 16 selections in program history coming under his leadership.

ABOUT LSU NEW ORLEANS
In July of 2026 the University of New Orleans rejoined the LSU system and rebranded to "LSU New Orleans" bringing together two powerful brands - the purple and gold of LSU with the unbreakable spirit of New Orleans. The transition marks a return to the LSU family for the University - a place it called home from 1958-2011.
