NEW ORLEANS – The LSU New Orleans golf team had its best round of the season on Wednesday afternoon – a 1-under-par 287 – and moved up four places to finish 11th at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate with a score of 902.
Taylor Boasberg's 5-under-par score of 67 during Monday's second round got the momentum started for the Privateers on Monday afternoon. The former Jesuit Blue Jay had a near-perfect scorecard with six birdies to go with 11 pars. He finished tied for 43rd with a score of 223, with 41 of his 54 holes at par or better. Boasberg now has five tournaments in his career with double-digit birdies.
Jude Bourque finished right behind Taylor with a score of 225. The Lafayette native finished strong as well with a 3-under-par final round of 69. Six of his team-leading (and career-high) 12 birdies came during the final round, including two birdies on his final three holes. Tuesday afternoon's third round was his first round below 70, and his 54-hole score of 225 was three strokes shy of his personal best, set at last season's Colin Montgomerie Invitational.
Baron Vollmer and
Fynn Wanke both made eagles during their stay at RidgePointe Country Club. Vollmer's second career eagle came on the 506-yard No. 5 to open the second round. Wanke's first career eagle came on the 555-yard No. 13 during the final round. The freshman duo finished tied for 62nd and 66th with scores of 229 and 231, respectively.

The Privateers were at made par 153 times over the past two days – the fourth-best mark of any team in the field. They were also one of just five teams to record two or more eagles and had the sixth-fewest bogeys, with 56.

ABOUT LSU NEW ORLEANS
In July of 2026 the University of New Orleans rejoined the LSU system and rebranded to "LSU New Orleans" bringing together two powerful brands - the purple and gold of LSU with the unbreakable spirit of New Orleans. The transition marks a return to the LSU family for the University - a place it called home from 1958-2011. Athletic teams will remain the Privateers and continue to compete in the Southland Conference.
