HAMMOND, La. – New Orleans rallied from a 17-point deficit, tying the game in the final minute before falling 69-67 to future Southland Conference foe Southeastern Louisiana on a late shot on Tuesday afternoon at the University Center.
After trailing 35-18 with 4:19 left in the opening half, UNO (1-7) fought back to tie the contest for the first time on the debuting
Yasmin Taylor's jumper with 39 seconds to go in the game. SLU (6-2) broke the tie at 67-all with a Jamieka Hoskins second-chance opportunity with three seconds left.

Samantha Gray from beyond the arc at the buzzer was off the mark, thwarting the visiting squad's chance to spoil a 'Lunch with the Lady Lions' crowd that featured numerous area school children.
Mirjam Sipos sparked the rally for UNO, scoring 15 of her season-high 20 points in the second half.
The senior guard was 6 of 7 from the field after the break and joined in double-figures in the second half by
Keri Thomas, who added 11 points. Thomas netted 14 points for the contest and reached double-digit scoring for the seventh time in eight games this season.
A strong defense effort by the Lady Privateers an opportunity to rally from the large deficit they had built.The Lady Lions shot 26.1 percent from the field on 6 of 23 shooting following the intermission and were responsible for 11 of their 20 turnovers as well.
Setting the tone early, SLU hit 15 of 35 attempts from the field for a 42.9 percent clip during the first 20 minutes.

Diarra Carrington lay-up with 15:55 remaining in the opening half signaled the first points for a UNO squad which fell behind 10-1 prior to the Carrington basket. A Thomas three-point play pulled the Lady Privateers back within two at 12-10 with 13:56 remaining until the intermission.
As they had in the prior meeting, SLU finished the half with a strong run, scoring 27 of the final 44 points scored to take a 39-27 advantage into the break.
Aja Gibson was the top scorer for the Lady Lions with 19 points while Brandi Simmons netted a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Symone Miller finished out the double-figure scorers for SLU with 15 points, seven of which came on free throws for a Lady Lions' team that attempted 30 shots from the charity stripe.
Next for the Lady Privateers is a game at Louisiana-Lafayette at 7 p.m. on Thursday. UNO's next home contest is Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. against Jackson State.
