NEW ORLEANS – The LSU New Orleans Privateers once again had their most efficient hitting set to close out the day as they scored a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) victory in a scrimmage over the Dillard Lady Bleu Devils on Saturday at the Human Performance Center.
The Privateers had 17 kills and notched a .520 hitting percentage in the third and final set as they overcame an early 4-1 deficit.
Ania Anderson and
Ava Frerman each had five kills in the third set and
Mariana Franco closed out the win with the Privateers' seventh service ace of the day.
LSU New Orleans held a 50-22 advantage in the kill department over the Lady Bleu Devils. Frerman once again led the team in kills with 10 on the day while Anderson was just one kill shy of a double-double with nine kills and a team-high 10 digs.
The Privateers hit .370 for the match and averaged 14 digs per set on defense.
LSU New Orleans broke a 6-6 tie with a run of 11 points over the next 15 rallies. The Privateers boasted a .375 attack percentage in the first set.
The widest margin on the scoreboard was in the second set which the Privateers took 25-13. LSU New Orleans began the set on a 9-2 run which saw four different Privateers score a kill in that stretch.
Nyakuak Lual had four kills to co-lead the offense along with Anderson in the second set.

Defne Eciroglu had 27 of the team's 50 assist.
Mariana Franco also contributed 13 assists on the day.
Vladana Ristic had six digs and
Mia Lopez added five digs in the opening set.
Armie Hall had seven kills and
Ayen Nyuar had five kills in six attempts

The Privateers open their regular season on Friday, Aug. 28 in the LSU New Orleans-Nicholls Challenge against Alcorn State.
