2026 Volleyball Schedule Includes Two Home Tournaments, 16-Match Southland Slate

NEW ORLEANS – The LSU New Orleans volleyball schedule will feature two exhibition matches, two host tournaments and trips to California and Georgia before a 16-match conference schedule.

Under sixth year head coach, Ashley Preston the Privateers will navigate through a schedule that includes 29 regular season matches (14 at home and 15 on the road).

Before the regular season gets going, the Privateers will host a pair of local schools in Saturday afternoon exhibitions, both scheduled for 12 p.m. The new brand will hit the court against Xavier (La.) on Aug. 15 and follow with an Aug. 22 match against Dillard.

From there, the Privateers delve into the regular season, starting with the LSU New Orleans/Nicholls challenge, which is co-hosted by the two Southland schools. The Privateers will face Alcorn State in their regular season opener at the Human Performance Center on Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Matches follow the next day against Stonehill and Oral Roberts.

The Privateers travel for two weeks when they play three west coast schools in a tournament hosted by San Jose State. LSU New Orleans will play the host Spartans along with UC-Riverside and Pacific.

Then, they travel to West Georgia to face the host Wolves, Mercer and Gardner Webb between Sept. 11-12.

Before the Privateers dive into conference play, they will once again co-host the Pelican Invitational along with Tulane. The schools coming to the Big Easy are Idaho (Sept. 17), Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 18) and Florida A&M (Sept. 19). That weekend closes with a short trip to Tulane on Sept. 20.

LSU New Orleans opens conference play with a four-match road swing before returning to the HPC on Oct. 8 for their home Southland opener against Nicholls. The Privateers will have most of their home matches on the back half of the conference schedule as six of their last nine in the regular season are at home.

The regular season closes on Nov. 14 against Stephen F. Austin at home. The Southland Tournament will be in Corpus Christi this year from Nov. 20-22.

ABOUT LSU NEW ORLEANS
In July of 2026 the University of New Orleans rejoined the LSU system and rebranded to "LSU New Orleans" bringing together two powerful brands - the purple and gold of LSU with the unbreakable spirit of New Orleans. The transition marks a return to the LSU family for the University - a place it called home from 1958-2011. Athletic teams will remain the Privateers and continue to compete in the Southland Conference.
