NEW ORLEANS – The LSU New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will make their fall season debut at Coconut Beach in Kenner this weekend. The two-day event will begin on Saturday and will feature four different divisions.
The top division will commence with a 16-team bracket and is the AVCA Bid Division. Two Privateer teams are in that bracket: Cassie and
Ellie Sieling, who went 19-11 in their first season on the Lakefront in 2026 will compete in the bid division. They have the fifth highest TruVolley ranking of all teams in the division.
Also competing for the Privateers is
Brooke Dow and newcomer,
Teya Gibbs. Last year, Dow won 15 matches at flight two while playing with
Ashley Salazar who has since graduated. Gibbs was a highly accomplished student-athlete at Feather River CC in California in both beach and indoor. She was an AVCA Third Team All-American in indoor and earned All-Conference and MVP honors in beach.
There will also be three separate divisions (aqua, pink and blue) where teams will alternate partners over two days.
The aqua division will have
Malia Kampfe and
Molly Perry along with
Lucianna Alexander and
Caden Carter. A newcomer this year, Carter has been with the Gulf Coast Volleyball Association for the last four years while Kampfe, Perry and Alexander all return from last season.
Maya Bleeks and
Evy Neill will compete in the blue division. In the pink division, the Privateers will have
Kylie Lyons,
Audriana Spielman, Jodan Madsen and
Shaylee Swartzendruber competing.
The event features teams from LSU, Tulane, Southeastern, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Southern Miss, McNeese and ULM.
Saturday is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start and Sunday the action will continue with an 8:30 a.m. scheduled start of play.
