NEW ORLEANS – The LSU New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will make up their originally scheduled fall opener when they travel to Hammond to face Southeastern for two matches on Friday afternoon.
The Privateers were set to travel to Hammond in early October, but inclement weather that weekend delayed the event.
The day gets started at 9 a.m. with pairs two, four and six encompassing the first group of matches. The next time window will begin with pairs one, three and five following.
After a break, the two teams will play once again with pairs two, four and six starting off the second match scheduled at 11:50 a.m.
The Privateers had five wins on the sand against Southeastern at the AVCA Bid Event at Coconut Beach. Four different pairs earned victories against Lady Lions pairs over the two-day event in Kenner.
Jordan Madsen and
Molly Perry beat the same pair twice in their bracket. They beat Ally Alfonso and Frida Espeseth 21-19, 21-19 in pool play and won 21-12, 21-19 in the silver playoffs the next day.
Maya Bleeks and
Malia Kampfe, Cassie and
Ellie Sieling, and
Caden Carter and
Evy Neill all scored victories over Southeastern pairs during the two-day event that also featured Southland competition from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and McNeese along with local competition from LSU, Southern Miss and ULM.
The event in Hammond will be the last one for nearly a month. The Privateers are scheduled to close out the fall against Tulane on Nov. 20 at White Sands.
