HATTIESBURG, Miss. – New Orleans (7-14) featured two wins for Alexa Spartz and Madeline Drake (No. 4) and Hannah Volpi and Trinity Jackson (No. 5) on a rainy Tuesday at the Southern Miss Beach Courts. The Privateers defeated Southland Conference foe Southeastern Louisiana 4-1 and fell to the host Southern Miss 3-2 after a three-set thriller at the top dual.
 
Spartz and Drake cruised to a win at No. 4 against the Lady Lions 21-10, 21-12 and followed with a three-set win against the Golden Eagles. Volpi and Jackson took No. 5 21-9, 21-16 in the first match and ended the evening with a 21-15, 21-13 victory.
 
Veronica Corcoran and Victoria Corcoran won the top dual 21-18, 21-15 and nearly erased an early deficit, falling to Kylie Grandy and Abbey Wilson 21-19, 19-21, 17-15. Ally Carr and Maxine Walsh took No. 2 21-19, 22-20.
