NEW ORLEANS - The LSU New Orleans Cross Country programs will look to build on their solid starts to the season when they compete at Florida State's Pre-Regional meet on Friday morning.

Brandt Blanchard (25:25.5), Kenneth Cerrato (27:18.8), Landen Juneau (25:21.7), Henry Livingston (26:05.5) and Grant Young (28:07.6) all have experience at 8,000 meters for the Privateers. Joshua Guidry, Trevin LeBouef and Alex Williams will be running their first collegiate 8K races tomorrow morning.

Sophomore Alexa Daverio's personal best at 6K is 23:35.7, while junior Petra Imre has finished 6,000 meters in 21:54.6. Freshmen Sophie Acevedo, Ella Narhi, Madalynn Salsman, and Layla Warren will all be competing in their first 6,000-meter races for the Privateers. Katelyn Perri and Sophia Perri will be making their collegiate debuts in Tallahassee.

The Privateers have twice competed at Apalachee Park. The men's team finished sixth with 182 points, while the women finished 12th with 339 points at the 2019 FSU Invitational. New Orleans' men won the 2020 Florida State Winter XC Classic with a score of 46 points, while the women finished fourth with a score of 126.

Kolyn Saltzman owns the fastest 8K time by a Privateer male on Florida State's home course after finishing in 25:22.8 in 2020, while Arina Kleshchukova's fifth-place time of 21:30.0 - also in 2020 - is the fastest 6K effort by a Privateer female at Apalachee Park.

Other schools set to race on Friday morning include Alabama-Huntsville, Ave Maria, Bethune-Cookman, Central Florida, Eckerd, Embry-Riddle, FIU, Flagler, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gateway College, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Southern, Florida State (hosts), Jacksonville, LSU New Orleans, Lynn, Miami (Fla.), New College of Florida, Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Pasco-Hernando State College, Seminole State College, South Florida, South Florida State College, Southern Miss., Stetson, Tallahassee State College, Tampa, Thomas (Ga.), and Virgin Islands University.

The men's 8K will begin at 6:40 a.m. CST, and the women's 6K will follow at 7:20 a.m. CST. Live timing results can be found at the link at the top of this story courtesy of PT Timing, and updates will be made available on @PrivateersTFXC on X and Instagram at the conclusion of each race.
