2026-2027 MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
NEW ORLEANS - Trips to Arizona, Texas Tech, Kansas and four non-conference home games highlight the 2026-2027 LSU New Orleans Privateers men's basketball schedule.
The Privateers will make the journey to Baton Rouge in a "Battle of LSUs" when they play the LSU Tigers in the season opener on Nov. 3. It will be the third time in the past four seasons that the two schools have played at Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
New Orleans' first home game of the year will be during Homecoming festivities on Nov. 7 when they host the Loyola Wolfpack at Lakefront Arena. The game will be a reunion of sorts - for head coach
Stacy Hollowell and the Loyola program he led to a national championship, and Loyola head coach Trey Lindsey - a member of Stacy's first staff on the Lakefront three seasons ago.
In addition to hosting the Wolfpack, SUNO (Nov. 14), Florida Gulf Coast (Nov. 29) and Grambling State will all travel to Lakefront Arena.
A unique quirk of this year's schedule is an in-season home and home with Grambling. The Privateers will host the Tigers on Nov. 25 before traveling to Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center on Dec. 13. The last time New Orleans had an in-season home and home with anybody was the 2012-2013 season when they did it three times - splitting pairs of games with San Jose State, Texas Pan-American and NJIT.
Three big non-conference trips await the Privateers. The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Privateers on Nov. 18. New Orleans will make a trip out west to take on the Arizona Wildcats on Dec. 1. After a brief foray into Southland play, the Privateers wrap up the non-conference schedule with a trip to Lawrence, Kan., to take on the Jayhawks. Arizona finished last season ranked No. 3 in the AP poll, Kansas No. 20, and Texas Tech No. 21. The Privateers last played at Arizona in 1993, at Kansas in 2005, and at Texas Tech last season.
For the second straight year, Southland Conference play opens in December. The Privateers will host UTRGV (Dec. 5) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Dec. 7) to open league play before trips to HCU (Dec. 19) and UIW (Dec. 21).
Games in January include road trips to Northwestern State (Jan. 2), East Texas A&M (Jan. 4), Stephen F. Austin (Jan. 16), and Lamar (Jan. 18). Home games during the opening month of 2027 include Nicholls (Jan. 9), Southeastern (Jan. 11), East Texas A&M (Jan. 23) and Northwestern State (Jan. 26).
In February, the Privateers host McNeese (Feb. 1), HCU (Feb. 13), UIW (Feb. 15), Lamar (Feb. 20), and Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 22). Road games in February include trips to UTRGV (Feb. 6), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 8), and Southeastern (Feb. 27).
The season wraps up on March 1 with a trip to Lake Charles to take on the McNeese Cowboys. The Southland Tournament - also hosted in Lake Charles - begins on March 7 with the championship game on March 10.
For the fourth consecutive season, all Privateer home games will air on ESPN+. In addition, all Southland basketball games home and away will also air on ESPN+. Streaming and television coverage for non-conference road games, as well as radio coverage information will be made available closer to the season. Tipoff times will also be made available on PrivateerSports.com as the season approaches.
