TULSA, Okla. – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team (0-21, 0-10 Southland) gave up 25 second-chance points as they fell 93-62 to the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (6-14, 5-5 Southland) at the Mabee Center on Thursday evening.

It was a see-saw battle early on as the Privateers gained their first lead at 9-7 on a Danielle Davis three-pointer with 16:16 remaining. It was the first of 16 lead changes in the opening half between both teams.  The two squads were also tied on five different occasions.

The score was tied at 26-26 with seven minutes remaining in the first half. However, the Golden Eagles scored the next nine points, a run that was started by turnovers from the Privateers on three consecutive possessions. Oral Roberts wound up heading to the locker room with a 50-33 lead. The Privateers shot 44.4 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes, but also turned the ball over 10 times.

Oral Roberts continued their momentum into the second half as they out-scored the Privateers 34-16 in the paint. The Golden Eagles also had a 46-27 advantage on the boards, and pulled down 17 offensive rebounds to just seven for the Privateers.

New Orleans was led offensively by Danielle Davis who scored 13 points on four-of-six shooting. Davis also added three assists as the Privateers shot 40.4 percent from the field. It was the third time this season, the Privateers eclipsed the 40-percent mark from the field.

Ariele Davis tied a career-high with 10 points. Jewel Angelo added 10 points. Melissa Jensen contributed eight and Dannisha Jackson added six points. The Privateers bench scored 27 points on the evening.

Oral Roberts was led by Noora Jaervikangas who set a new career-high with 21 points. Kaylan Mayberry added 20 points and has now scored 60 points in her last three games. Golden Eagles' leading scorer, Christian Key added 13 points.

The Privateers will travel to Conway to take on the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears on Saturday. Tip is slated for 2 p.m.
