Scott Nunez has joined the LSU New Orleans team as Associate Athletic Director for External Operations in August of 2026.
Nunez has over 20 years of Division I athletic administration experience. Most recently, he served as the Director of the University Center in Hammond, La. which houses all Southeastern volleyball and basketball home events. He started in that role in May of 2017 and his duties included direct planning and execution of athletic competitions, VIP hospitality, donor events, championship activities and special events.
Nunez also represented the the university in partnerships with community organizations, promoters, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Prior to that, Nunez served six years as Assistant Director for Facilities in University Housing at Southeastern. He directed comprehensive maintenance and custodial operations for multiple residential facilities, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high standards of occupant satisfaction.
Nunez also was an adjunct professor in Marketing at Southeastern from 2007-2009 where he taught Principles of Marketing and Professional Selling courses.
Other roles Nunez served at in Southeastern's department included Director for Facilities at the Recreation Sports & Wellness Center and Assistant Athletic Director. Nunez also worked 12 years as a sales representative for Riddell All American.
Nunez obtained his Bachelor's in Merchandising with a minor in Marketing from Southeastern in 1992. He earned his MBA in December 2001.
