LEXINGTON – Daryl Bachmann, Yoran Kabengele-Kabala, Olamipo Ladipo and Keldrick Turner will represent the University of New Orleans in four events at NCAA East Regional this week in Lexington, Ky.

Turner will be the first Privateer to compete in three events at an NCAA regional since Ismael Kone in 2022. He will race in both the 200-meter and 400-meter preliminaries Wednesday night and as part of the 4x100-meter relay team Friday evening.

He qualified for the 200 meters after running a personal-best 20.61 and taking home the bronze medal at this season's Southland Outdoor Championships. That mark ranks third in the Southland this season and No. 45 in the East Region. It is the fifth-fastest time in school history and ranks No. 3 on UNO's all-time performance list.

Turner also qualified for the 400 meters after breaking the school record three different times this season. The graduate student saved his best for last with a blistering 45.19, breaking his own school record on his way to a Southland Conference gold medal. His time is the third-fastest ever recorded by a Southland student-athlete and currently ranks No. 10 in the East Region and No. 16 nationally.

In UNO history, only Kone's 9.94 in the 100 meters in 2022 ranked higher prior to an NCAA regional. When the 400-meter gun goes off tomorrow night, Turner will become the first UNO student-athlete to compete in an NCAA regional at 400 meters in program history.

Kabengele-Kabala qualified for the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.197 at this season's Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. His time in Austin is the 16th-fastest 100-meter time in program history, and he currently sits No. 5 on UNO's all-time performance list. He qualified with the No. 40 mark in the East Region this season.

Bachmann and Ladipo will join Turner and Kabengele-Kabala on Friday afternoon in the men's 4x100-meter semifinals. The foursome set a new school record of 39.40 while taking home the silver medal at this season's Southland Outdoor Championships. That time ranks No. 20 in the East Region after duplicate schools are removed.

Kabengele-Kabala and Ladipo will each be competing in their first NCAA regional. Bachmann will compete in his second NCAA regional race after running in the 4x100 meters last year as a Privateer. Turner qualified for the NCAA Championships last year as a member of the Mississippi State Bulldogs' 4x400-meter relay team after the Bulldogs placed eighth at the NCAA East Regional.

The 100-meter preliminaries get underway at 6 p.m. CST tomorrow, with the 400 meters following at 6:25 p.m. The 200 meters will take place at 7:25 p.m. The top three finishers in each heat, along with the next three-fastest times, will advance to Friday's semifinals.

The 4x100-meter semifinals take place on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. The top three finishers in each heat and the next three-fastest times will advance directly to the NCAA Championships.

The entire NCAA East Regional will air live on ESPN+, with updates available at the link at the top of this story and on @PrivateersTFXC on X.
